The Medical Journal of Australia's September 2025 consensus statement recommends FIB-4 assessment followed by liver elastography for all adults with type 2 diabetes, obesity, or metabolic risk factors. Every Australian on a GLP-1 medication meets this criteria. Most have never been told.
